Hemp is everywhere and it should be. Hemp is a miracle plant that can be used for just about everything. The hemp industry continues to see record breaking results in growth:
Global Newswire says this about hemp market growth: “The global Industrial Hemp Market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 34% from 2019 to 2026”.
Expert Market Research says: “The global industrial hemp market reached a value of about USD 5 billion in 2020. The market is further expected to grow at a healthy rate in the forecast period of 2021-2026 to attain a value of approximately USD 24 billion by 2026”.
As hemp and CBD continue to gain popularity through the launch of new products, collective boost in invention comes with. We have a whole column about it that continues to grow! In this piece, the hemp goes mainstream focus is: pillow, toilet paper, and mouthwash.
Hemp/ CBD Mouthwash
This infused hemp product claims to help fight plaque and gingivitis and there is research to support that. In a study published by the Journal of Cannabis Research, scientists reported that CBD-infused mouthwash was effective at killing certain plaque-related oral bacteria, like chlorhexidine- which is an active ingredient in prescription mouthwashes.
Hemp/ CBD Pillows
This one is a little shocking for sure because the thought of infusing a pillow sounds strange, but it’s being done. Companies like Malouf, make pillows that are infused with CBD oil and spritzer. So how does this work for humans and health?, is a natural follow up question.
Because of the relaxing and calming benefits of hemp/CBD, the idea is that it offers better sleep. There are a number of studies that support the calming benefits of CBD, but there isn’t one specific to pillow infusion.
Hemp/ CBD Toilet Paper
Nordic Botanics makes CBD infused toilet paper and states that “you can wipe your problems away”. The infusions on average are 1MG per 1 ply sheet. There is some anecdotal evidence suggesting CBD can help with constipation and digestive problems, due to its calming effect on muscles from tension. To date, there are no studies that prove that toilet paper can transfer CBD into the skin via a wiping motion.
